Batch Entry, Print & Update (glbe)

This enhancement allows multiple General Journal Entry sessions to be entered, printed and updated without affecting another batch. This General Ledger enhancement is designed for an organization where multiple departments, divisions or groups wish to do General Journal entry within the General Ledger module and update just their work. A batch number is requested during General Journal Entry. General Journal entries and the General Journal can then be printed by the batch number. Each batch can be updated individually. The update procedures do not lock the entire file; only the key record for that batch is locked. Thus, data entry can be performed while another group is updating their batch.

Once a batch is entered, it can be accessed and modified from ANY terminal, unless another User is updating the same batch.

Standard features:

During the Print and Update phase, other Batches can be used for data entry and editing. The General Journal entry file is NOT LOCKED, on the Batch Control Record. This feature allows the multiple Batches to work independent of each other.
